Friends of the Miller Hill Playground is undertaking an exciting and much-needed project to build a new playground at Miller Hill Sand Lake Elementary School in Averill Park, NY. In our rural community, where public spaces are limited, the playground will serve as both a vital school resource and a welcoming gathering place for the broader community.
Miller Hill serves the largest group of elementary students in the Averill Park Central School District. A modern, engaging playground isn’t just a luxury - it is essential for their physical, social, and emotional development. The existing playground, now over 20 years old, has deteriorated beyond repair, lacks accessible features for students with mobility challenges, and poses significant safety issues.
Our vision is to create a space that encourages active movement, imaginative play, and meaningful interaction for all children, regardless of ability. We are working toward a fundraising goal of $250,000, and every contribution brings us closer.
100% of your donation goes directly to the playground project. Your gift is tax-deductible and will leave a lasting impact on our community.

All sponsors will be permanently honored on a plaque at the school. They will also be recognized on our promotional materials, including on our website and social media.
Donations of $1,000 or more will additionally be recognized with a logo on any promotional materials and apparel.
